About

Ideatura is an AI reasoning engine for architectural production work that runs inside a live Autodesk Revit model. Architects and drafters describe a task as a plain-language prompt or a drawing markup — "dimension all external walls at 1m offset" — and Ideatura executes it against the model's native geometry, covering drawing production (dimensions, views, sheets, tags), building and component modelling from a sketch or photo, construction details, and code-compliance checks. Automations are saved once to a shared firm library tuned to the office's own standards, and every change is written straight back into the Revit model rather than into an exported or parallel file.

How teams use it

By audience

Architecture
  • Generate complete dimension sets across plans, sections and elevations from one plain-English command, tied to real geometry — any wall layer (face, core or centerline), and across linked files.
  • Model massing, facades, model edits and component placement from a sketch, photo or prompt during design development, without leaving the live Revit model.
  • Mark up a drawing directly in Ideatura Studio and have the change executed back into the model as a standard, rollback-able Revit transaction.
  • Run compliance and QA passes that read the model and drawings, pull the numbers and check them against code (limited beta).
Designer / Drafter
  • Automate the repetitive CD-set chores — dimensions, tags, views and sheet layout — to the firm's own graphic and naming standards.
  • Batch-create and rename plans, RCPs, sections and elevations into the existing view-template structure instead of doing it view by view.
  • Build out the drawing-package structure: create sheets, place views in position, automate numbering and populate title-block data consistently.
  • Review what Ideatura will place before it touches the model, then tune the exposed parameters (offsets, styles, categories) rather than re-prompting from scratch.
BIM Manager
  • Encode firm standards and templates once as saved automations, then publish them to the shared library so every project and every team member applies them the same way.
  • Keep Revit as the single system of record — Ideatura reads the live model and writes back into it, so there are no exports or parallel files to reconcile.
  • Replace bespoke Dynamo graphs for documentation tasks with plain-language automations that non-developers on the team can author and adjust.
  • Deploy as a local Revit add-in backed by the vendor's cloud services, self-updating via the vendor's own release channels rather than an Autodesk App Store install.
Structural Engineering
  • Dimension and tag structural elements — grids, levels, structural walls and framing — across plans and sections in a single batched command.
  • Annotate against the live shared Revit model (including linked files) so structural documentation stays coordinated with the architectural model rather than forking into a parallel file.
  • Named by the vendor as a target discipline on its Solutions page; the shipped Drawing production module is category-driven and discipline-agnostic, while structural detailing sits in the limited-beta Construction details module.
MEP Engineering
  • Automate view creation, sheet layout and tagging for MEP drawing packages to the firm's naming, view-template and title-block standards.
  • Work on the live model and its linked files, so MEP consultants annotate against the current architectural background without re-importing.
  • Named by the vendor as a target discipline on its Solutions page; MEP-specific capability beyond drawing production sits in the limited-beta modules (Component modeling, Construction details, Compliance & QA).

By phase

Design
  • Turn design intent into a coordinated construction-document set — dimensions, tags, views and sheets — inside the live Revit model.
  • Build massing, facades and component families (doors, windows, furniture, fixtures, equipment) from sketches, photos or prompts as the design develops.
  • Author construction details and assemblies as the 2D detail layer matures toward CDs.
Pre-Construction
  • Run compliance and QA checks over the model and drawings, extracting the numbers and testing them against code before the set is issued (limited beta).
  • Verify that drawing and model changes were carried through consistently before issuing for permit or tender.
