Tableau ships a built-in Amazon Redshift connector across Tableau Cloud, Desktop, Prep and Server. It authenticates with username and password or with Redshift OAuth in two federation types, IAM Role (taking an AWS Role ARN) and IAM Identity Center (taking an IDC namespace), and can browse other databases and datashares from an open connection. Tableau reads from the warehouse; nothing is written back.
