CausewayOne Carbon
About
CausewayOne Carbon calculates embodied carbon from the materials a contractor has actually bought. It applies a carbon value to each line item on supplier invoices exchanged through CausewayOne e-Invoicing, then reports emissions by project for Scope 3 disclosure. Buyers can also use the data to find lower-carbon alternatives to the materials they purchase.
How teams use it
By audience
- General Contracting
- Contractors report Scope 3 embodied carbon from what was actually bought and delivered, instead of spend-based estimates.
- Line-item carbon figures support client and government carbon reporting, such as City of London or public-sector contract requirements.
- Procurement & Purchasing
- Buyers compare the embodied carbon of purchased materials and switch to lower-carbon products on future orders.
- Suppliers share carbon data once through the network, so buyers stop chasing each supplier separately for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
By phase
- Pre-Construction
- Bid teams use carbon figures from past projects to answer tender carbon requirements.
- Historical paid-for carbon data informs material choices at the estimating stage.
- Construction
- As materials are invoiced during the build, each line item gets a carbon value, so project carbon totals stay current without extra site work.
