About

Kroo MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that exposes a contractor's Kroo data warehouse to the AI assistants their organisation already runs. It answers questions against the tables, views and data-dictionary context a team defined in Kroo, under the same row-level permissions Kroo applies elsewhere, so people query construction data in a chat client without building back-end infrastructure for it.

How teams use it

By audience

General Contracting
  • A GC asks one question spanning ERP, project management, safety and scheduling rather than pulling each system by hand.
  • Both of Kroo's published MCP deployments are GCs: Alston rolled it out to 125+ field and office staff, Skender across a ~400-person firm.
  • Row-level security means a project team sees only the jobs it runs when it queries.
Specialty Contracting
  • Specialty contractors query labour productivity and equipment utilisation across the systems Kroo extracts, without exporting from each one.
  • Answers come from the same warehouse the office reporting runs on, so a field question and a dashboard cannot disagree.
Owner/Developer
  • Owners ask about a development's cost and schedule position without logging into the contractor-facing systems the data sits in.
  • Closed-out project data in the warehouse is queryable in the same conversation, which is how Kroo frames cost-engineering review for new pursuits.
IT & Systems Administration
  • IT connects one MCP server instead of building and maintaining an API integration per AI client.
  • Tool-level permissions are set per connector inside the AI client, and Kroo's row-level security decides what any answer may contain.
  • Both published deployments were led by a Director of Technology at a firm with no data-engineering team.
Accounting & Finance
  • Finance asks for a job's cost position across the ERP and the project-management system in one query instead of reconciling exports.
  • Skender's financial analyst reports that a report which took hours of manual pulling from Sage and Procore is now a single question.
Project Manager
  • A PM asks across job costs, field data, safety and schedule for one project without opening four systems.
  • Answers are permissions-aware, so a PM sees their own jobs rather than the wider portfolio.

By phase

Pre-Construction
  • Precon and business-development teams query prequalification and CRM data held in the warehouse alongside historic job costs.
  • Alston names preconstruction as one of the office teams querying directly rather than requesting a report.
Construction
  • Field and office teams ask live project questions spanning the ERP, the PM system and the safety system during delivery.
  • Cross-system reconciliation that used to take hours becomes one question, which is the saving both published deployments report.
