About
ChatGPT is OpenAI's general-purpose conversational AI assistant, used on the web, in desktop and mobile apps, and through OpenAI's developer API. In AEC it is used as an unspecialised writing and reasoning tool — drafting RFI and submittal language, summarising specifications and contracts, writing Revit Dynamo and Grasshopper scripts, and turning site notes into proposal narratives. Firms extend it with their own data by connecting apps and Model Context Protocol servers, so a construction system's records can be queried in plain language without leaving the chat. It has no AEC-specific functionality and no construction data model of its own.
