About

Finvari is a construction spend platform that combines corporate cards, expense management and AP invoice automation for contractors. Cardholders code purchases to job, phase and cost type in the mobile app at the point of sale, receipts are captured by photo or email forward, and vendor invoices are extracted at header and line-item level, checked against ERP data for duplicates and unusual amounts, and auto-routed for approval using the job data and approval hierarchies imported from the ERP. Approved expense and invoice data is pushed back into the contractor's construction ERP through the Finvari Connector — an installed or API-based link to systems including Viewpoint Vista and Spectrum, CMiC, Sage 300 CRE, Sage Intacct, Foundation and Acumatica.

How teams use it

By audience

Accounting & Finance
  • Receives card transactions and vendor invoices already coded to job, phase and cost type, so month-end closes without re-keying statements into the ERP
  • Runs AP invoice capture at header and line-item level and gets duplicates, overdue invoices and unusual amounts flagged against ERP data before approval
  • Sets spend controls centrally — per-employee limits, per diems, merchant-category blocks and online-purchase rules — instead of policing expense reports after the fact
  • Issues and freezes physical and virtual cards without a bank branch trip; the card is issued by Sutton Bank under a Mastercard licence
Project Manager
  • Approves job-charged card spend and vendor invoices from the mobile app using the reviewer hierarchy imported from the ERP
  • Sees purchases hit the job cost report in real time rather than 30 days later when the card statement arrives
  • Catches miscoded charges against the wrong job or cost type while the person who made the purchase still remembers it
Foreman / Field Supervisor
  • Buys materials and fuel on a Finvari card and codes the purchase to job, phase and cost type on the spot in the mobile app
  • Captures the receipt by photographing it or forwarding the emailed copy, with automatic attachment to the transaction
  • Gets SMS and push reminders for missing receipts or incomplete coding instead of assembling an expense report at week's end
General Contracting
  • Replaces employee-reimbursement and shared-card workflows across a distributed field workforce with controlled per-user cards
  • Keeps job cost in the GC's ERP current on field purchases without an accounting clerk transcribing statements
  • Adopted by mid-to-large GCs including Sellen, Leopardo and T.A. Loving per the vendor's own customer list
Specialty Contracting
  • Gives crews spending authority for material and fuel buys with merchant-category limits set per employee type
  • Codes trade crew purchases straight to the job and phase in the specialty contractor's ERP (Vista, Spectrum, Foundation, Plexxis)
  • Priced with no subscription or per-user fee, which matters for contractors issuing cards to a large seasonal headcount

By phase

Construction
  • Field purchases — materials, fuel, rentals, per diem — are captured and job-coded as they happen during the build
  • Subcontractor and supplier invoices are extracted, validated and routed for approval while the work is in progress
  • Committed and actual cost stays current in the ERP during construction, so the job cost report reflects spend within the period it occurred
