Gusto Embedded Payroll
About
Gusto Embedded Payroll is a payroll API, with prebuilt UI flows and a React SDK, that software platforms use to run payroll inside their own product. The platform owns the screens and the customer relationship, while Gusto calculates pay, files federal, state and local payroll taxes, moves the money, and produces pay stubs and tax forms for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors. Optional flows add partner-provided health insurance, 401(k) and workers' comp, and sync payroll journals to Xero or QuickBooks Online.
How teams use it
By audience
- Accounting & Finance
- Accounting staff run payroll from inside the construction platform they already use, such as BQE CORE or busybusy, instead of exporting hours to a separate payroll system.
- Gusto files federal, state and local payroll taxes in the background, including for crews paid in more than one state.
- Wage and tax totals return to the host platform or sync to Xero or QuickBooks Online as journals, so payroll does not have to be re-keyed into the books.
- Human Resources
- HR staff onboard W-2 employees and 1099 contractors inside the host platform, and Gusto generates their pay stubs and year-end tax forms.
- Benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) and workers' comp can be offered through Gusto's partner flows without leaving the host platform.
