About
HCSS Dispatcher is the crew, equipment, and material scheduling/dispatching product in the HCSS suite for heavy-civil contractors. It sends crew, equipment, and material assignments to HeavyJob and receives jobs, employees, exceptions, and utilization data back.
How teams use it
By audience
- Foreman / Field Supervisor
- Sees tomorrow's crew, equipment and material assignments for the crew before leaving the yard, instead of chasing the dispatcher by phone.
- Assignments land in HeavyJob, so the same plan the foreman was given is the one time is booked against.
- Superintendent
- One board shows where every crew and machine is committed across all active jobs, which is what prevents double-booking a scarce piece of iron.
- Flags idle equipment before a rental gets ordered for work the fleet could already cover.
- Construction Management
- Moves crews and equipment between heavy-civil jobs from a single schedule rather than reconciling per-job spreadsheets.
- Utilisation data returning from HeavyJob shows whether the dispatch plan actually held.
- Project Manager
- Confirms the resources a job was promised are actually assigned to it before a delay claim becomes a schedule problem.
- Material deliveries are dispatched alongside crew and equipment, so the three arrive on site together.
By phase
- Construction
- Runs the daily and look-ahead dispatch of crews, equipment and materials across a heavy-civil contractor's active jobs.
- Exceptions returning from the field update the board, so the next day's plan starts from what actually happened rather than what was planned.
