Paychex Flex is a cloud payroll and HR platform. It runs payroll and payroll tax filing, tracks time and attendance, and administers benefits, onboarding and employee records. Field-time apps and project ERPs send approved hours and employee data into it for pay runs, and certified-payroll tools read processed payroll back out for prevailing-wage reports.

- Accounting & Finance
- Controllers at contractors and design firms run payroll, payroll tax filing and year-end W-2s in Paychex Flex, with labor split by job.
- Approved field hours arrive from time apps such as Raken, busybusy, Connecteam and Jobber, or from Unanet ERP, instead of being re-keyed each pay run.
- Flexspring's Procore connector sends Procore timesheets into Paychex payroll and returns labor cost to Procore for job costing.
- Certified payroll (WH-347) reports come from marketplace partners such as Points North, which read processed Paychex payroll back out.
- Human Resources
- HR staff keep employee records, onboarding, benefits enrollment and workers' compensation for field and office staff in one system.
- Employee records sync with project ERPs such as Unanet, so staff are set up once for both payroll and project time.
- Field workers see pay stubs and W-2s and enroll in benefits through the Paychex Flex mobile app.
