About

Qonic is a cloud BIM platform built on IFC for modelling, coordinating and delivering building models. It opens and federates IFC, Revit, Rhino and SketchUp models without rebuilding them. Users can edit geometry directly with solid and direct modelling, and manage published model versions with access rights. Coordination tools run clash detection, IDS and rule checks, and track issues with BCF. The same live model produces quantity reports, dimensioned drawings exported to DWG, 4D construction sequences and IFC exports. Qonic AI agents classify elements, fill missing properties and apply bulk edits for review. Desktop, web and mobile apps share one model, and pricing is by project portfolio rather than per seat.

How teams use it

By audience

Architecture
  • Architects model massing through to detailed BIM, mixing freeform direct modelling with BIM objects and their data.
  • Architects import SketchUp or Rhino design models and structure them into IFC without remodelling in Revit.
  • Drawings with automatic dimensions and quantity reports come straight from the design model.
BIM Coordinator
  • Coordinators federate architecture, structure and MEP models from IFC, Revit and Rhino, and run hard and soft clash detection.
  • Issues are assigned, tracked and exchanged as BCF against the geometry they affect.
  • Agents compare model revisions and list what moved, disappeared or changed shape.
BIM Manager
  • BIM managers validate models against IDS requirement files and rule checks, and the AI explains each failure.
  • Shared code, material, property, type and location libraries keep classification consistent, and properties link to buildingSMART's bSDD.
  • Qonic AI auto-classifies elements and fills missing properties across thousands of objects for review.
Estimator
  • Estimators build quantity take-off reports from live geometry, grouped and filtered by rule, and export them to CSV.
  • Quantity changes between model versions are tracked, so revised drawings show what moved in the take-off.
Facilities Management
  • Facility teams find assets by building, floor, space, class or property, and inspect maintenance and fire data in context.
  • The live model is kept up to date through refurbishments and space changes, and stays open through IFC.
General Contracting
  • Contractors bring design models together, repair incomplete geometry and split models into construction packages.
  • Model elements link to tasks for 4D construction sequencing and simulation.
  • Site teams open the same live model on mobile, with role-based permissions.
MEP Engineering
  • MEP engineers check duct and pipe routes against structure for hard clashes in one federated model.
  • Agents list MEP elements missing a system classification so the data can be completed before handover.
Owner/Developer
  • Owners validate the information delivered at handover against their requirements before the project team leaves.
  • Building teams ask the model in plain language for assets, spaces and materials, with no BIM specialist needed.
Structural Engineering
  • Structural engineers keep their calculation tools and use Qonic as the shared model layer to see the impact of a moved beam on openings and ducts.
  • Clashes between steel and other systems are found and assigned in the federated model.

By phase

Design
  • Design teams model, federate and coordinate disciplines in one live model, with clash and rule checks as they go.
  • Drawings and reports are produced from the coordinated design model.
Pre-Construction
  • Contractors prepare design models for construction, split them into packages and take quantities off live geometry.
  • 4D sequences link model elements to planned tasks before mobilisation.
Construction
  • Site teams open the coordinated model on tablet or phone and track issues against the geometry.
  • Construction-ready models are updated as packages change, and quantity changes are tracked.
Closeout & Operations
  • Handover models are validated against IDS before the team leaves, and COBie-style asset data is summarised by floor.
  • Operators keep the model current through refurbishments and query it for assets and maintenance data.
