About
Microsoft Fabric is a cloud data platform that pulls data out of many systems into one store, OneLake, so every report and query runs off the same copy. In AEC that lets a firm report across its design, project management and accounting systems at once, instead of reading each platform's own dashboard and reconciling the numbers by hand. Data arrives through vendor-built connectors, an open Delta Sharing feed, or a shortcut that reads a file left in another cloud without copying it. Power BI is a workload inside Fabric rather than a separate product, and Fabric is bought as pooled capacity rather than per seat, so a firm already running Power BI dashboards meets Fabric as the layer underneath them.
