Accounting & Finance

• Holds the general ledger the project cost model is reconciled against — project-controls tools pull actuals, commitments and budgets out of it instead of re-keying them.
• Takes approved subcontractor invoices and payments from construction payment platforms straight into AP, so the pay-app cycle ends in the books rather than in a spreadsheet.
• Carries the company codes, cost centres and exchange rates that every downstream construction system codes its transactions against.

Procurement & Purchasing

• Receives purchase requisitions raised in SAP Ariba Buying and turns them into purchase orders under the ERP's own release workflow.
• Is the system of record for supplier master data, which replicates out to spend and expense platforms so a subcontractor or supplier is set up once.
• Tracks commitments and purchase receipts against the job, so committed cost is visible before the invoice arrives.

Facilities Management

• Runs SAP S/4HANA Asset Management, so maintenance work orders, spare-parts inventory and equipment master data for a completed asset sit in the ERP.
• Takes work-order time and cost back from field CMMS apps so operations spend lands against the asset it was incurred on.
• Accepts purchase requisitions raised from IWMS workorders, connecting real-estate and FM service work to corporate procurement.

By phase

Construction

• Owns the cost-actuals side of the job while the project team works in the PM tool — labour, materials and subcontractor payments post here.
• Issues the purchase orders and holds the commitments the project cost report is measured against.
• Supplies projects, cost centres and supplier records down to time-tracking and field apps so hours and spend are coded at source.

Closeout & Operations

• Becomes the asset register once the building or plant is handed over, carrying equipment master data and maintenance history.
• Runs maintenance work orders, spare-parts stock and service cost for the operating asset through SAP S/4HANA Asset Management.
• Holds the real-estate and lease financials an IWMS reports and procures against after handover.
